If in an accident that is NOT my fault. does liability insurance cover the damages on my car? liability applies only to damage done to humans by or in a car I don't believe so. It would be covered by uninsured motorist coverage or collision. Liability is when you are sued and certain other 3rd party aspects. I'm no expert, but I think not. You have to look to the insurance the other party carries. That's exactly what they have liability insurance for. The liability is theirs. no it doesn't ,it only covers the other persons car, even if you have un-insured motorist ,if it wasn't your fault, and the other person had insurance ,yours still wont cover your car, there insurance should cover your car ,if they didn't have insurance then yours will or should cover your car,if you have un-insured motorist on the policy, good luck on it. been a certified mechanic for 37 yrs. Nope-- liability only covers the damage to the other car or persons in the event it was your fault. Their Liability Insurance covers your damage, unless they don't have any--then you use your "uninsured insurance" or take them to court. |
