In autos why is red bad but more costly in insurance?

Some insurance companies will charge more for red cars, younger people, sports cars, etc because statistically speaking they have more accidents and get more tickets.
Cops see red vehicle first.
The color of the vehicle doesn't matter. My insurance agent has never seen my car and has never asked about it.
Theory: Red cars get pulled over and ticketed more often. Thus, a red car driver must be and unsafe driver.
red eventually fades to pink. If your agent is charging more for a red car.....smack him or her.
Believe it or not, red vehicles get in more accidents than any other color (you'd think black cars would be harder to see at night, but for some reason the red cars get it the worst). It might have something to do with the fact that you can get virtually any sports/performance car you care to name in red. They call it "arrest-me-red" for a reason.
My uncle is the Deputy Commandant for the Michigan State Police -- that's where I got this interesting little factoid
