Which supplemental insurance would you get for a rental car if you don't already have auto insurance? |
Which supplemental insurance would you get for a rental car if you don't already have auto insurance? Can't you freaking people read? He said he doesn't have insurance! It's possible your credit card you rent the car with offers insurance protection on rented vehicles, otherwise you are going to have to purchase their insurance. I recommend you get virtually everything they offer, ESPECIALLY comprehensive coverage. Even if a pebble puts a ding in the windshield, you would, otherwise, be expected to pay for the repair or replacement. your insurance should be all you need if you have full coverage. If you have liability only, call your agent. Some companies will fully insure the rental Check your own personal auto insurance policy. If it transfers completely to a rental car, then I would not really worry about the "extra insurance". Why pay for something you don't need? Only get it if it gives you extra piece of mind. If your personal coverage does not transfer to a rental, then I would compare packages, and read ALL the fine print. Something "middle of the road" works best, you don't really need the "top of the line" complete coverage if you are a responsible driver. I wouldn't get the cheapest as that can mean a really high deductable. Work for Toyota Rent A Car. I think you'd better make sure they will rent you the car without requiring you to purchase their supplemental insurance. If they will, get the comprehensive insurance they offer.
