Auto Loan?

My boyfriend is in the process of buying a new vehicle. His ex-girlfriend co-signed for his current vehicle and he's going to use the current vehicle as a trade in. What does he need to do to get her off the title of the current vehicle? Does she need to sign forms at the dealership or can we type something up?

depends on how the title reads - if it has his name and/or her name, she does not need to sign. If it has his name and her name she would have to sign an affidavid, the car lot would have all the paperwork you need. Source(s): notary in oklahoma
If both of their names were on the origional documents, they both have to sign off.
The only thing she needs to sign is the title if her name is on it. As far as the loan, she dosent need to sign anything with that.
If her name is on the title, she WILL have to sign before a notary for him to sell the car.
She will be removed when your boyfriend buys his new vehicle the problem can be in the title work, it depends on how the title is assigned. If it reads "and or" then your boyfriend can sign without his preivious girlfriend. If it reads "and" then his previous girlfriend will have to sign the title also.
I work for a dealership.
