If i co sign on an auto loan will it effect my credit should i apply for an auto loan on my opwn? |
If i co sign on an auto loan will it effect my credit should i apply for an auto loan on my opwn? I have heard some real Horror Stories about Co-signers. Don't do it. Yes it will because the loan you co signed on is a potential financial liability. yes it will affect your credit, if you are the co signer it will show as more credit out, if you are the borrower it will show that you cannot handle the credit on your own and go against you Yes, potential liability and your debt to income ratio. i would NEVER cosign a loan. it does effect both signers yeah if you co-sign and the person you are signing for goes into default then they will come to you for payment..c0-signer is basically saying that if the main applicant defaults then you will be responsible..a friend of mine co-signed for another and the other person got into a car accident and had no insurance and they made my friend pay. Word of advice..if this person has a histroy of not paying their bills or has bad credit then i would nto advice you to co-sign becaue the chances are good they will bring you down right with them..only way i would c-sign is if they did not have enough credit history and needed someonone with a good credit history to back them up and even with this said...i would ask my friend for a copy of their credit report before i would co-sign for them and they would have to have been on a job for at least a year and proove to me some kind of stability. |
