Okay, i have a auto loan on my truck.?

lets say that the truck was 15,000 cash. and with financing and everything. the total amount came out to be 23,000. now if i wanted to refinance the pickup, would i refinance the 15000. or the 23000? the finance dept said that i dont have an early payment penalty or somthing along those lines. any help would be great.

i believe you are saying you bought it for 15k and if you made all your payment until the end of the loan you would than have paid 23k
if you refinance you will only be refinancing the present balance which should be 15k plus a little interest assuming you haven't made you first payment yet

You would refinance the enitire amount, including any interest that you owe.
You would only refinance the "Principle Balance"
Your 23,000.00 figure includes all the interest.

You will refinance the balance of $15,000.00 less any principle payments that had reduced that. Daily interest will be computed up to the time you actually refinance a new note.
you refinance what you still owe on the first loan
Why didn't you simply ask the finance company how much you still owe on the truck?

That would be the same as the amount you would need to refinance.
