Where can i find a auto loan for active military with limited credit? |
I am a soldier in the US Army with no credit history and I am looking for a loan to buy a new motorcycle worth about $11000. I can put down $1000 to $2000. Where should I look for a loan? go to a credit union they will give you the best rates depending on your ets and rank. most posts have one on base check there. but do know that motorcycle loans are different than car loans they are considered recerational vehicles so it will be harder to obtain or may have a higher interest rate. Join a credit union. It costs $5 to open a savings account and become a member. Kemba Credit Union is a good one. They're usually less strict about credit and have better interest rates. http://www.kemba.org/ Go online my son just got back from Iraq and he is in Germany he went on line to car places in the DFW area where he will be landing and got approved for 15000 with 500 down and it was at the big dealerships 4 of them and he only applied at 4 I think it is easy for military cause they will take it out of your check and your commanding officer will see you pay it! Do the same contact the places that sell motorcycles and go from there! Yes a credit Union is very good idea. They are usually more willing to give you an auto loan with no credit history. One other piece of advice is to secure the loan BEFORE you go to a dealer. If you go ready to buy with check in hand the dealer will be more inclined to work with you on the price and extras if they have a good chance of moving metal that day. Do NOT get suckered into any of those scummy dealerships that advertise "we finance E1 and up", they will rip you off and you need to stay away from them. Get the loan first then go shopping. Former navy, been there and done that. no credit union my friend. I am ex- military. Have you looked into USAA ? they only deal with military personel and have many other finacial services. I still am able to use them being a vet and I now have my car loan, car insurance, my mortgage, and a few credit cards with them. They are great. look them up... sorry civilians... this is only for us miltary peeps. |
