Would i be able to get an auto loan if i have a credit score of 660?

the only debt i have is a credit card and it has now been sent to an attorney. i am now working with them on paying it off. the amount i owe is around $500.00. i will be looking into the loan after this is paid off, but i would also like to know if the loan wouldbe possible before i did this? my car is on its last leg, and i might need it before this is paid. so would i be able to get one before the credit card is paid?

You can get a car loan but it will be at a higher interest rate because your credit score isn't that appealing to lenders. You can off set a higher interest rate if you put down a higher down payment.You can get a car loan, If you are buying the car from a private party you can check with your credit union if you are a member of one. They may give you a loan and rate quote.They may say no. Some are tough some are more lenient.There will be a credit union or bank that will say yes.

If you go to a car lot a finance guy at the dealer will know which bank or credit union will do the loan for you. The manufacturer or dealer may also have financing. You will pay higher interest but have them shop the rates. Your credit isn't good but it doesn't suck. Grind the salesman.
Important! If you make your payments on time your credit will go up and you will be able to refinance the car at a better rate. The other option is to trade in and get a better car after awhile with a good credit payment.
Make sure you buy a car that you can make the payments on all the time cause you want to fix your credit not make it worse. Also I suggest a cheaper car for the short term. Fix your credit with a cheap car. After your credit is good then go buy a nicer car. You'll save a couple of thousand dollars this way. No Joke! Good Luck!
