Are auto loans (even shorter ones) a good idea for used autos?

If there is a car I want that's used (and 10k) is an auto loan a good idea? This isn't a car that i'm looking at just to drive for a few years then sell. This is /THE/ car. But I've always thought (and been told by several people) that loans are not good ideas. and just out of curiosity is there ANY pros to a loan?

Well yes....you don't have to come up with 10K. The pro is that you can get the car because most people don't have that kind of money laying around....so yeah, loans are OK.
