I'm getting a credit check for an apartment, but i have a loan will they say i have bad credit? |
Will they tell me right there and then that i have bad credit just cause i have a loan? i dont have bad credit and i pay all my bills on time. I just dont want my friends to know i have a loan. I agree with the other posters. Simply having a loan on your credit report should not keep you from getting an apartment unless there are negative circumstances surrounging the loan. I did want to add one thought: It sounds like maybe you are trying to rent an apartment with roommates (your friends that you don't want to know about your loan?) The apartment complex should not share any information obtained from your report with anyone other than you. While that is not always the case in reality, I hope this gives you some peace of mind. They will not deny you as long as you are paying your bills/loan on time. Nah, I have a gigantic loan and never had an issue. As long as no creditors are chasing after you and no loan sharks are at your door with a silencer (all loans are in repayment and credit is good).....you will be fine :) Bad credit is when you don't pay your bills on time, or don't pay them at all. If you have always paid the payments on time and are not behind, and you've had no other debts, your credit cannot be bad. The worst that could happen would be if your debt-to-income ratio was too high. That means that you have a certain amount of debts, and after the monthly payments on those debts, there is not enough of your income left to pay on another new debt. But if you only have the one loan, you should not fall into that category. not as long as your payments are on time and you are paying them. bad credit happens when you dont pay bills at all or are continually late. ...in fact, having a loan and making the payments for it on time will actually HELP your credit rating.
