I have a really bad credit rating, but my partner has a great credit history - can we still get a mortgage? |
If so, can you suggest any good mortgage companies in the UK, and give any advice? ok yes you can get a mortgage but the interest rate will be higher, i would still get a joint mortgage if your married if not then i would not do it, if you get the joint credit then your credit rating will eventually go up and your partners will stay same or go up. if you do not your partners may go down as the debt to income ratio will cause that. don't know any good ones in uk but you can always use the internet to find them. try that site they have nice campaign http://sratim.approval4u.hop.clickbank.n... You will have difficulty in applying for a joint mortgage as your credit rating is bad. There are companies out there that will support your application, however I wouldn't advise going to them. The only real answer to this is to improve your credit rating. Depends on who's name is going to be on the Mortgage application as the main applicant. Try moneysupermarket.com Why not just get the house in your partner's name? Otherwise you are limiting yourself to people who will give credit to someone with a "really bad" credit rating. That's not the sort of people you want to owe money to... The mortgage rate of interest will be based on the score of the lowest person so financially may not be in your best interest to be on the loan. From a legal standpoint, make sure you have a contract that outlines the relationship should something happen to either party.
