If you had to open a savings account, which bank would you advise and why? Standard bank The service is brilliant. But try Capitec Bank They offer the highest interest rate 10%pa. *** P.S don't worry the bank is a subsidairy of Capitec which is listed in the JSE. All the South African banks are a disgrace, they are greedy corrupt organisations only interested in milking every last penny from the average working class South African. It makes no difference which you choose, service levels and excessive fees are equally bad accross the board. Try a cash safe under your bed. I'd open a savings account on the internet with either ING or HSBC. They offer very competitive interest rates on savings accounts. http://www.ingdirect.com http://www.hsbc.com go to a credit union,,,you'll be an owner I'm with Standard Bank and I've never had any complaints. I have a savings account, a credit card and an investment account with them. The service have been really good and the consultant that helped me when I purchased my car was great and made some good suggestions on saving me a couple of rand each month. If the account is for saving - I would suggest saving in your credit card account as the interest rates are more competitive. My experience |
