I have a bank account in HSBC in Mexico and I need some advice? |
About 2 months ago 3 checks were stolen from my car in a valet service. Several days later the checks were cashed all at the same time in different banks in Mexico City for a total of $7,000.00 dollars U.S. I found out later that they had been forged with my wifes signature. This proves that a bank employee was involved in the crime. There was no way the person who stole the checks could have known my wife could sign checks seeing there was no information in the car and her name didnt appear on the check. Her signature is also a lot easier to forge than mine. Anyway I have received some help from an institution called CONDUSEF which gives free assistance in these cases. They told me sometime the bank will offer to pay part of the money stolen. Should I accept that, or should I sue the bank for the entire amount? take the amount and then sue for the rest. if you sue now you will not get anything for a long time. be sure not to agree to let them settle entirely with the pay out amount That is YOUR money, man!!! I wish that other countries could be as great as America and insure the money that you in trust in them. Find out who the MF'er was that cashed those checks, sue his *** for the money and attack the bank for not giving a better background check on the people they hire. If that ever happened to me at my bank, I wound end up owning a branch. $7,000, I have never seen that much money at once in my life. |
