What is the best bank in England to open your account?

What is the best bank in England to open your account?

It really depends on what you're looking for?

Is is savings (Long or short term) or is it going to be money in and out regularly with you're salary going in?

If it's just a cash based saving, then look for an ISA - It's tax free and aloows up to 拢3,000 per year in cash and an additional 拢4,000 in equities if you so wish. For this I recomend a Building Society like Nationwide or Kent Reliance.

Many Banks do Current Accounts which are low interest easy access accounts usually accompanied by a cheque book or debit card.
