Can I deposit a check in my personal bank account that is written to a charity organization? No, if the check is made out to a charity, it will have to be deposited in an account of that charity. only if the organisation endorses it No. Even a tired teller will tell you this is fraud. And then, gosh, they have a camera taking your picture while you're trying to do this. Probably the bank would not allow it, but even if they did, it would be a real bad idea for you to comingle personal and charity funds. And you'd have a real hard time filing your 990 for the charity if funds are not in an account for the organization, since you have to show account balances and it wouldn't balance. sounds shady ;) Now just why would you want to do that? Only think I can think of is FRAUD! no there is no way you can do this now as there is to much money laundering these days |
