What is going to happen with my bank account, and what they are going to ask me?

our records indicate that your account has had no activity for some time and for your protection it is now considered dormant.

Does any one that works at 5/3 or knows about it?
thanks

They might ask you to get some activity going or to transfer it to a new or different account. All you have to do is deposit a little in it every once in a while. Maybe $ 5.00 They did me like this I bought a C D for 8 months then reopen it. It's up to you .
just means they will flag it in case someone tries to use it all of a sudden. They arent taking your money or anything... just blocking it since it has not been used in a while.
I don't work at 5/3 but I can tell you that if you don't go into your branch and reactivate the account, or close it, they will charge you a dormant fee (usually around $30) and then a monthly holding charge until the funds are totally depleted.
Because you haven't used it for so long, they shut it down. It still exists, but you need to go to the bank and reactivate the account by taking ID and putting some money in it.
When an account does not show activity of any kind for a certain amount of time the bank considers it dormant. They are required by law to notify you and gave you ten business days to do something about (deposit one dollar). After that the funds are handed over to the state comptroller's office and you can then deal with the state in getting them back.
It just kind of sits there until you reactivate it. It's no big deal. I used to work for a credit union.
Don't know the bank but your best to just close the account. Most times there are secret charges that apply to dormant accounts and eventually they will take it out of the account, until it reaches a zero balance (after which they will close it). Sometimes banks will charge you to re-open the account from dormant.
