Does anyone have any advice on opening a bank account while being on chexsystems? |
im currently on chexsystems and telecheck and i live in michigan so if u know of something online or around michigan let me know cause i dont know how else to get an account and i owe to many banks so...... If you don't have any luck getting past chexsystems to open a traditional bank account, you could look into one of the newer Visa or MC prepaid companies. It seems like many of them advertise that they don't do credit or chexsystems checks. I recently got one that didn't have those kinds of checks. Their website is www.readydebit.com if you want to look into it. You can do direct deposit to their accounts, and they have zero overdraft fees, which I like. The absolute only way to get any account in Michigan is through Chexsystems or Telecheck. You have to pay back the money to the banks you owe so that they can show your file as paid. Being on Chexsystems and Telecheck isn't the end of the world, but it does affect your credit score as well. Pay the banks back that you owe, or your financial future will get worse and worse since without a bank account, you won't be able to buy a house, car, take out a loan, get credit, or a lot of other things. michigan bank employee My sister got screwed with Chexsystems...it's a long story, but she paid back what she owed and many banks still wouldn't open an account for her just based upon the fact that she was on their system. I'm not saying don't pay it back, you definitely should to clear up your credit, but I would call ahead to any banks you're considering so that you don't waste your time if they won't give you an account no matter what. She was able to open an account with Bank of America because the money she owed wasn't to them and I think you can apply online. Also try Key Bank if they are in your area. They have a checkless account for those on Chexsystems. Good luck. |
