I asked them not to, I can get the statement online, but they say it's federal law. Is that true? I can get my credit card statement online only, no paper.
No. If you have an online account with them, there should be a place that you can mark you want online bills only. I have this option with my bank and cable company. As for it being a law that they have to send a paper statement, I don't think so. Many of these companies want you to do your work online to save them the hassle of sending paper statement's. The only reason I can see that they are doing this is that they may be a small bank without the options. There is no federal law like that. The bank may be charging you a fee and may not want to give it up. Look at your statements and see if there is a service charge.
