How much does it charge to start a checking account at Wells Fargo Bank? Call their customer service dept. Phone Call 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. General Banking Questions: 1-800-869-3557 Banks don't charge customers to open an account. i think just $100 to start. But Wamu is better! i have both, wells fargo has too many charges and fees. I don't think you need anything to start with WAMU... It should be FREE. If not, so many other banks have free checking. You usually don't even need a minimum balance to open one. You should receive a free debit card and checks, also. Ask Wells Fargo Bank. No bank that I am aware of charges to open a checking account. You will need to pass a review through Check Systems or whatever service Wells Fargo uses to make sure you have no problems with checking accounts at other institutions - if you do, then you will have to open a savings account instead. Most require a minimum to open the account though. I am a banker. |
