If you owe one bank $ on a closed checking account can they find out if you open one with another bank? |
Please only answer if you know. Don't waste space trying to get points. When you open a account at a bank and you are a new customer they have to run your name through a credit system just to make sure you do not owe any one else money-when you close an account at a bank or the banks forces your account closed it is reported to a credit system so you can not get credit or open up a new account until this debit has been paid. yes you can , you will have to do some searching Yes. All overdrafts are reported to a central agency and they will discover that you owe and will ask you to clear that up first. No they cannot, but remember they are currently trashing you credit, some banks though subscribe to a service and when you apply for a bank account they run it ( similar to telecheck) if you pop up they wont allow you an account You will be able to open an account, but eventually the new account will get closed after the new bank realizes you owe money to another bank. http://www.secondchancecheckingaccount.n... All your financial info is kept on file and stored at the credit reporting companies. Any bank you deal with can get this info on request. These days you are often required to sign a form allowing them to do a credit check on you when opening new accounts, etc. Trust me, the company you move to will know you owe someone else money, and the company you owe money to will know where you've taken your business. What steps they take is based on their own policies. Always best to owe up to your responsibilities, as you never know when your financial past mistakes/errors will jump up and bite you in the butt. |
