Can a Bank take automatic pay from account days early ? |
Can a Bank take automatic pay from account days early ? It has been done on 12th this month as 13 and 14 were holidays so make the payment on 15th they would have debited on 12 so that it get cleared properly on 15th. Though bank can not debited without your authority but when you signed the contract at that time you may not have read fine prints. I don't think can do it with out your permission and authority to do it Depends on the agreement you have. Most say they'll take out the payment 'on or about' whatever day, which could mean a few days before or a few days later. I would check with you bank and see what it's rules are on drafting your account electronically. You stated that you wanted the account drafted on the 15th of every month, if the 15th happens to fall on a Saturday or Sunday they may draft it the friday before, as banking operations such as this arent open on the weekends.
