What is the best nation-wide bank chain to open a checking account with? |
I was looking for a free checking account with free online banking, a free debit card and no fees. Stay away from Bank of America. You will not only get horrible service, but they will charge you tons of fees. I had them years ago and they charged me a fee of $10 for going inside the bank and using the teller more than two times in one month. What? I have to pay a fee for using the bank? Forget it. I dumped them and never looked back. I have a Chase account, but I prefer local banks and credit unions. I would say Bank of America they are the largest bank in the country. Chase being 2 being 2nd i think. Plus you get free online bill pay which works nice I prefer Wells Fargo to Bank of America. BofA is awful. You want everything for free. If you are not going to keep a decent sized balance, don't expect all the free services you desire. |
