Which bank yields highest rate for CD AND SAVINGS account? |
Which bank yields highest rate for CD AND SAVINGS account? Citi's e-savings account and ING direct and HSBC direct all yield around 5% Meadows Credit Union....its in IL though but i love that bank!!! try bankrate.com www.hsbc.com e-savings acct. is 5.05%. Opened acct with them, but haven't been able to check my account for the past month, tooo many problems with them. I just want my money back!! www.IngDirect.com is a better bank to go to tho - been with them for 3yrs no problems I bank with them Bank of America has a high yeild account for both however it requires a balance of 10-15k to start up. Savings and checking both are interest bearing around 4.5 % and the CD is 5.25 and runs for 5 months without penalties for withdrawal after 30 days. Best bet is to check around but check for account types that fit your total savings and CD balance with half of your normal checking balance. Keeping all three together could yeild higher returns. Also check if the intrest is compunded daily, weekly or monthly and stay away from anything yearly daily, weekly and monthly compounded yeild a faster and higher return overall. try investing in the risk-free treasury bonds of developing markets. you could yield upwards of 10% with absolutely no risk of default! |
