Yes, it is very likely-- it WILL NOT show as "paid in full" it will show as "settled for less than full amount"...which HURTS, big time-- it means that you might not pay your bill and then if you do, you might pay less than the full amount, and the bank would have ot 'write off' the difference. If you plan to do this, negotiate that they will put 'paid in full'. it depends on how the bank re4ports it to the credit agencies. in most cases no. Actually, yes it will. If you settle a debt for less than the amount owed, it will show on your credit report. Call your local credit beureau and just ask someone if you want to be sure. |
