How do you get off Chexsystem? Are there any banks that will give you an account when you are on chexsystem? |
My ex husband wrote all kinds of bad checks when I left him 3 years ago. I cannot get a savings or checking account because of it. I paid all the fines at the bank that he did it too and I am still on there. I am so frustrated because I didnt do anything wrong and I cannot get an account!! Any Advice? It takes about 5 years to get off of ChexSystems' "a-list", but don't despair. I have the perfect solution for you. It's called AccountNow. It's an alternative to a checking account, but it doesn't require credit approval and they don't check at ChexSystems. You get a debit card, direct deposit, and online billpay. The online billpay is a bonus because any recurring monthly payment that's made through it, is reported to another reporting agency that helps you build credt (PRBC) I'm sending a link to both so that you can get a better understanding on what I'm talking about Source(s): http://www.accountnow.net http://prbc.com/consumers/how/prbc.php... I was on it and I first had to pay them, then it took like 3 months for them to take off my report. I know all states are different and it all depends how long a go it was it take up to 7 years to get off and most banks don't take people with chexsytem. Probably the most authoritative web site on this subject is "Victims of ChexSystems" located at chexvictims.com They have a large list of banks that don't use chexsystems on their forums but you have to register to see them. Registration is free and nobody will try to sell you junk or spam your mailbox. Some banks that don't use chexsystems will pull your credit report or send an inquiry to telecheck. Also many banks, such as Bank of America and U.S. Bank, have relaxed their rules regarding chexsystem's 5 year "death penalty". It's going to take some research but it's definitely doable and I don't think you need to play the money order/prepaid plastic game. Good luck! Hi, You should definitely look into membership at a credit union as a first step to re-establishing your good credit. The Federal Reserve Bank of San Francisco has some helpful info on their site: http://www.frbsf.org/publications/consum... When a financial institution submits a situation to ChexSystems, it will remain on record for five years. If additional information is needed about a ChexSystem record, contact ChexSystems at: ChexSystems, Inc.
