You should try to make arrangements with the collection agency before they take legal action. Your wages can be garnished, they can issue a lien against anything that you sell, they can take your income taxes, or any number of things. The best way to halt that is to make payment arrangements.The Bank have sold on the debt to the collection agency. So from now on, you are dealing with them and not the Bank.
