in america you are simply not going to get a risk free money market with no fees or minimums at over 5.5% right now ... above that, and you will be taking on extra risk.. or it may not actually be a money market. you may get something like .30% more for banks with large minimum deposits though.

12%-18% !! give me a break.. thats an investment with more risk than the stock market.. that is the way things work.. regardless of the investment, higher return=higher risk.

the highest rate i have seen in an actual money market is through emigrantdirect bank.. zero fees, no minimuns 5.05% www.emigrantdirect.com


i would be very skeptical of the risk involved with anything more than half a percent above that.
That is a very location specific question. Your best bet is to shop around your local banks.
I'm told www.bankrate.com maybe that will work for you.
From my experience, local banks give some of the worst rates. They seem to be at 3.3% or lower. For the best rates, I went on www.bankrate.com. They have all national banks on there and the rates are very competitive. I have an interest rate of 5.3% for a money market at Capital One that is also hooked up to my local bank account.

P.S. You probably know this, but always make sure the bank you choose is FDIC insured!!!

Banks don`t want gave normal rate...they invest your money in global market and give loans,mortgages from you saving money...and earn a lot...but you just some thing.....

there is chance to get minimum 6%....but in 70% you can get at least 12-18%
My friend she invest some money true one company and last month rate was 15% !!!
