I need to open an account with wamu , but I have issues with another bank will this pervent me from opening th When I opened my account with WAMU they did an extensive background check and even required me to show credit cards from other banks. Probably. If you have written hot checks/overdrawn your account, then other banks will know about it and not allow you to open an account with their bank. If you want a new account, you need to "settle up" with the other bank and get a clean record from them. i.e. payoff your overdraft if you have one. Probably. If you left the old bank with a negative balance, they would put you in 'cheksystems' that could prevent another bank from opening a new account. Take care of the old business first then try and open a new account. |
