Any US banks allow non-residents to open an account?

I live in Canada and it would save me some money on money orders every month if I could just have a American bank account.

8 months agoMy money has to be in a US account because I need to set up a direct withdrawl.
Open an account in Canada, which has branches in the US. For example, open a citibank account in Canada, then you can send over money through that account to your recepient in the US branch of Citibank. Just make sure that the person has access to your ATM.

Wells Fargo has been in the news a lot lately because they're opening accounts for and making home loans to illegals aliens. My guess is, they'd probably let you open one, too.
