Person is pressured at gunpoint from a scam to withdraw money from bank acccont $9K there is a police report on file and beign investigated. Can the bank replace the money ? It was done to an eldery widow woman thru a scam.
I would ask the bank. But in my opinion, I would say she should. If she was forced to remove money from her account under duress, then the bank should reimburse her. That is if I'm reading this right. Most banks are insured by the govt. the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation or FDIC. With a valid police report and if shes lucky a few eye witnesses ;) she should be ok.
