Can I have a bank account if I am only 15? |
I am too confused. I am currently have a part-time job , but i want to save my money, but i dont know if i can i have a bank account. It is great that you are wanting to save money. Yes you can get a savings account. Since you say you are confused, have your parent take you to talk to the banker. They will take the time to help you understand what types of accounts there are, and what you are eligible to enroll in. My kids started with their accounts at 5. They got a prize if they made a certain number of deposits in a month. Now they are in college, the bank has helped them get credit cards, money market accounts, and savings bonds. Keep up the good work. you can have a savings with one of your parents listed. Some banks may let you open up a checking. But I wasn't able to until I turned 18 had a savings account at 15 my son has had an account since he was 4-so yes Yes you can. You're parents will have to help you with this one. Banks usually have a savings account for kids, but one of your parents will have to be on the account with you. Usually, they require only a minimal amount of money to open one. Hey congrats on being responsible. Of course!! Banks are great because you eearn interest and you won't lose your money then. I opened my bank account when I was 5 but it was savings. Not Checking. i even got my own card to go to the ATM. I don't think you can get checking until you're 18. I think so. Ive had one since I was 10 |
