What happens if your bank account stays in the negatives too long?

Depending on the financial institution some will only allow you 10 days to bring the balance to zero while others will give y0u longer but not longer than 30 days. The will then close the account and before you are allowed to reopen the account you will have to bring the account back to zero and wait a specific period of time before applying to open the account. Then it will be the intuition's decision to either reopen or keep it closed.

Your bank will close your account and it will try to collect the balance owed from you. If it is unsuccessful, it will report the deficiency to a credit reporting agency (which will hurt your credit rating) and, depending on the amount involved, it may turn the account over to a credit collection agency.
You will go more negative if you do not take care of it "rightaway" (this is the key). If you do not bank can report this to the credit agency and could look bad in your credit report.
The bank will close your account and the bank will come after you for what you owe.
they just keep adding overdraft fees until its paid in full and if u still dont pay it they close ur account and sent it to a collection agency
They will charge off the account usually within the fiscal quarter. Your account will be closed and they will try to take you to court. If you don't pay your negative shares, you will have a VERY hard time opening an another account at that financial institution as well as others.
