Can A Kid Open A Bank Account?

Hello, I Am a 15 year old teen ,I have started working and been making money, I keep a majority of it for myself(you know spending money), I have a bank account with Chase with my parents, but if I put the money in there I will never see it again. I would like to open my own bank account and recieve a bank card and all. Is this possible, What are my options?

Unless you are 18 yrs. of age or older you can not open an account either savings or checking in your own name. You are a minor and thus can not sign any legal documents. You must have some one on the account that is over 18 yrs of age. Most financial intuitions can offer you a savings account but an adult will need to be on the account but you can receive an ATM card. Yes. Wachovia offers a minor account. You can have a bank card on that one.
yes kids can, my daughter has one all you need is the minimum amount of money most banks $50 to open it . most banks have a special program just for kids--might need parents co-sign but im not sure on that

EDIT: I see alot of people aren't getting your question...She wants a bank account alone! With no parents as signers. I work at a bank and a parent must be on an account until you are 18.

yes you can. i am 14 and i have an account (granted its in my parrents name but its mine). ive had it since i was 6 maybe?
