Can I get many bank accounts for different purposes?


I have a hard time saving money for certain purpose by keepingall the money in one account or two. I am thinking of having several accounts in several banks even with a little money for different purposes such as for travelling, for food, for rent, for car, for paying and deposting tax refunds, for eduation , for health purposes and so on even though my income right now is low.

Instead of a bank account you might want to check with a Credit Union they in my opinion have cheaper rates and might be better at dealing with a request like you have. I have 3 savings accounts and it works fine for me. If you want checking accounts I think you will have problems as many banks require a minimum balance of 400-500 dollars for free checking.
