Is it possible for someone to gain access to your bank account without knowing your pin? |
number mine was used last night only two people were in the house yesterday and they stole my purse containing 100 pound which is my sons money and also used my card to obtain another 200 yes they can. the most important numbers are your account and sort code (for obvious reasons) a pin can be bypassed e.g if you've ever been to a cashier they swipe the card on what is called a 'teller' this bypasses the pin and brings up your details. you can kiss goodbye to the cash hun, but you should be able to get the 200 taken out of your account back. make sure you get the card cancelled. and just so you know, your account may be frozen while the police are investigating. if this happens you ARE able to withdraw money, but you NEED to go into the bank and go to a cashier. take i.d with u (passport or driving licence). but i doubt you'll be able to use a card in an atm for a while, because they'll have no way of knowing if that is a fraudulent transaction. sorry to hear that tho hun, unfortunately its happening a lot recently! xx Source(s): work for NatWest xx yes, they can guess it and get lucky. . Yes so stop the card......you may be insured under card protection. Yup. Banks do it all the time, you know when they charge you fees? The gov't probably does it as well. if they used your card in the machine they DID know your pin This sounds to me like someone who knows you took your purse. If they have used your card in a ATM, they have your pin code. I think you should be looking close to home for the culprit. Sorry. |
