Many banks will still cash a check without a fee if the check is drawn from their bank, so whose bank is the check drawn from? lign="right" > Sign in to vote! You have a couple options: You would need to go to the bank the check was written from. If the check was a Bank of America check, you wouold need to go to a local Bank of America (and bringing proper ID) and cash the check. If it is not from a local bank, you would need to find someone with a bank account and sign it over to them (you sign your name and then under it sign "Pay to the Order of THIER NAME". As long as they have enough in their account, the bank will allow them to cash it and they can give you the money. If they don't have enough, the bank will hold the check until it clears (typically about 2-3 days) before they are allowed to withdraw the money.
