Is there a bank that allows a 17 yr. old to open a checking account without parents co-signing it?

I have a savings account but i don't have enough money to save and i keep losing money because i withdraw too much money in one mnth because i'm only allowed 2 free withdrawls.
So I would really like to open up my own checking account but my mom doesn't want to sign for it or whatever. So does anyone have any ideas?

a) you cant because that involves signing a a contract B) have you looked into pre-paid debit card that have little fees to them? C) why is your mom against it. in one year it will not be her choice, and at least if she co-signs, she can have access to the account and monitor you. a checking account is a requirement when your 18 and in the real world. tell her you want to learn about responsible checking before you make a mistake.
Why open up a bank account and then get your mother upset when she snoops through your room, as usual, and see that you have one.

Wait a year and go to any bank and get a credit card.

There is no use in disturbing the peace by trying to be GROWN before your time.

You will relish the days of your youth once you turn 25!

I promise you.
Life.
