Wachovia or Bank of America checking/savings account? |
I'm trying to decide which to go with for a free basic checking/savings account. They both seem to have similar features. I plan to do the majority of my banking online. Which do you guys think and for what reason? Bank of America has a the largest branch network in the country, so if you are planning on moving around at all and would need get into a branch, you have that option. I also like the My Portfolio option in their online banking where they allow you to link in all of your accounts (i.e. Savings accounts, Investment accounts, Credit Cards) and track your spending and saving habits. Their online billpay is also very good. i love bank of america i have had wachovia in the past and for 1 their customer service is crap, 2 they would charge for stuff that they couldnt explain why i was charged. i havent had any problems out of BoA plus where i live there are more bank of americas than wachovia..plus with bank of america u can do keep the change with ur checking account and have the extra change deposited directly into ur savings where as with wachovia u cant BoA is trusted and well know if you plan to let some bank hold your money BoA wont ever go away and they wont do you wrong . I currently have a savings account with over 500k in their and I get good interest and its with a bank I can trust. If you want a good bank with solid features go with BoA. Wachovia has much better customer service. Bank of America has lots of "salespeople." I have had accounts with both. I closed the BoA accounts, but I like Wachovia. I have had no problems using their website, and the bill-pay works well. I only say B of A because I am familiar with them. They require direct deposit for free checking. But they have more ATMs nationwide than other banks. They have good online banking. If you deposit money via ATM they automatically let you access the first $100 of that check. They're pretty cool. |
