Whats the longest amount of time that you kept a check without cashing it or putting it in the bank and why?


i have two checks that i havent done anything with just wanted to know how long other people keep their checks.

Once I was cleaning out my purse and found a payroll check that was around 5 months old.
maybe 8hrs, and it was my paycheck because I had to work
I had one for 2 months before I deposited it. I forgot where I put it. Found it when I was cleaning my place. LOL!!!
One should not hold checks without cashing. Some checks even have expiry dates (i.e. valid for 90 days from the date of issue) and you should check yours. Only time holding a check makes sense if you know the person issuing the check and they may have temporary shortage of fund.
