If I walk in a bank with a realistic looking rifle, and demand they cash a check, could that be armed robbery? |
Of course I had the check legally, but for some reason they wanted me to open an account or else present them with them with 5 of the 7 "valid" id forms. Absolutely, even a finger in your pocket pointed in a way that simulates a handgun makes your crime an armed robbery.it's only considered robbery if ur black. Oh - YOU'RE the guy who never heard of 9/11 and the Patriot Act! Hello you! I hope that check was big enough to cover a lawyer for ya! Generally, yes. The use of an apparent weapon is generally sufficient for aggravation, based on the reasonable beliefs of the victims. But if the check is drawn on their bank, payable to you, then they are required (in most states) to cash it, even if you don't have an account. And generally, they cannot require more than a valid state issued picture ID, your signature and a fingerprint. IF the check was drawn on that bank. If you walk on the sun will your feet get burned? Well, it's impossible to walk on the sun and you'd never make it to the counter carrying a realistic looking rifle. You'd probably be arrested and eventually charged with reckless endangerment or something less severe, as long as you didn't point the gun at anyone or act threateningly. yes you could be convicted of armed robbery even if the check was a legal valid check because you entered the bank with what appears to be a loaded firearm |
