How man y checking accounts can one have in the banks ( in usa ) , does it affect its credit score?

I work at a bank and you can have as many as you want. No it does not affect your credit score. The only thing from a bank that can affect your credit score is defaulting on a loan or an over-drafted account that gets charged off. Those are the only things.
I'm sure you can have a few. Just go to different banks. It might affect your credit score. I'm not sure. If you have a bad check then that will affect your score. Ask a banker.

You can open as many as you want. However, each time you open any account, these days, banks would like to run a credit check, which could eventually affect your scores.
To my knowledge, there is no legal limit on the number of bank accounts one can maintain. As long as they are not overdrawn, there would be no impact on your credit score. But, assuming that each account will cost you about $250 per annum to maintain, how many do you need?
I would recommend keeping only one or two regular use chaking accounts. There is no need to maintain multiple checking accounts and actually banks will give you a much better deal on a checking account if you maintain a nice saving account with them as well .. I would say get yourself one or two primary checking accounts ( everything fee-free)..

The credit reports do not show your bank checking account ( "cash accounts" ) but "credit" accounts only. Beware that the bank will run a "hard" hit on your credit report everything you open a bank account with them. That will affect your credit score negatively if you have a lot of "hard" inquiries ..
