I live in Galveston Texas, is there any bank that does second chance checking accounts?

I work at a bank, and we offer a "second chance". Call your local banks and ask for a program that will allow you to open a bank account with them. Our bank charges $40 for a one-day Saturday class that teaches you about responsible banking. After you complete the class and get a certificate, our bank allows you to open an account with us! If we offer it, I'm sure other banks do, too.

I use accountnow.net. It's a debit card that acts like a checking account, and accepts direct deposit from my employer. They are based in Cali, but they serve customers throughout the US. The customer service is good, and I have no complaints. There is a monthly fee of $4.95 and per transaction charges vary from 50 cents to two dollars.
