Am I able to get financel aid after filing bank rupcy I did put the loan onthere? Ask your lawyer, but I believe if you're in Chapter 13 and paying, you're paying for the loan too, and you are not eligible for finacial aid until the Chapter 13 is paid. If it's a Chapter 7, your student loans will NOT be discharged, they passed a law several years ago about this; and you are still not eligible for financial aid EVER unless you begin paying on your loans, and then I'm not sure of the timetable there, but I know you aren't eligible if you have outstanding loans. Again, check with your lawyer. I DO think you might still be eligible for scholarships (thru the school or otherwise) and possibly for Grants (NOT PELL)...other gov't grants but not Pell (I've tried!!)
