What is the difference between the graduate PLUS loans offered by private banks and those by the school?
The PLUS (Parental Loan for Undergraduate Students) is not issued by the school, but rather their preferred lender. These lenders, or banks, also issue "private" student loans; where the parent co-signs with the student to obtain the required funds. The difference between the PLUS and Private student loans is that PLUS loans are sent to the school, while private student loans are sent directly to you.
