What is the best postgraduate loan you can get to help pay for an MA and where from (ie bank)? |
I have one year left at uni and I want to do an MA in International Relations afterwards...You have to self-fund so I was wondering which bank/building society was the best to get a loan from In the UK you can get a Career Development Loan from the bank. I know the Royal Bank of Scotland do this type of loan and I think Barclays do it as well. Check out the charities that give scholarships and see if a bursary from your uni is available you can check this out by contacting the student services office at you chosen university. They may also be able to tell you of other sources of funding. get a joband use tuition assistance from your employer Maybe a private educational loan from a bank. Those can be used for school and living expenses. MA's MSc Mlit MBA etc are very expensive courses and along with your living expenses this will come to a considerable amount of money. If you cant get a scholarship or help with funding that does not have to be paid back then I would seriously consider whether or not your career really requires a Masters or if experience in a working environment (even if unpaid/low paid) may make you more employable. I wanted to do one myself but after evaluating the costs and weighing that up against the benefits I realised that it wouldnt be value for money and just doing it for personal fulfilment would be an extravagance which would put my education borrowing into tens of thousands of pounds - money if borrowed that would be better spent on getting onto the property ladder. |
