Can i spend a bank of ireland 拢5 note in england?


i was givien this as change from my local pet shop

You can change it at a an exchange bureau or your bank..nope...

also ireland is euro's now.. so no good.
It is legal tender but i doubt anyone will accept it. go back to the pet shop and buy something with it or trade it in at the bank
If it,s northern Ireland yes as it,s classed as legal tender because it,s sterling
its sterling and the bank will take it so should the post office its still legal sterling just some shops are funny about i live in northern ireland to be on save side i change them to bank of england notes if im going to england on holiday but ive also been able to spend b o ireland money in a london tescos .
I'm sure that Ireland has the euro now, but the bank should exchange it for you, although it won't be as much as a british fiver. I would try taking it back to the shop which offloaded it on you in the first place
