After doing MBA from India, as a fresher can i get a job in the US in banking sector? I might go in L2 visa.? |
I wish to go to US and join my spouse, but i have only 4 months of work-ex in a bank. So can i contact any consultant in the US who may fetch me a job in banking sector there? what courses/certifications i can take to get a job in US? I am MBA in finance from India. If you are coming as a dependent of an L1 visa holder (with you getting L2), you are eligible for work if you can get an Employment Authorization Document (EAD). Here is the USCIS page on EAD http://www.uscis.gov/graphics/howdoi/ead... To get an EAD, you need to have an employer who will sponsor you. It will not be easy, but keep applying. Having an MBA is not a guarantee that you can get a job and an employer to sponsor you. First, your MBA is from outside the US - and most employers look for MBAs who got their degrees in the US (with Ivy Leagues often given priority). It will not be easy, but it is certainly doable. Second, you have to prove that you have something special to offer that no American MBA graduates have. In fact, part of the process of EAD is for the Dept of Labor to see whether no Americans can indeed qualify for the position you are applying for. The employer in conjuction with the Dept of Labor will issue an ad in a widely circulated newspaper, and they have to check whether no Americans will respond to the job offer or no Americans who respond to the job offer can come close to your qualifications. The process of getting an EAD is also long - sometimes 2-5 years depending on the backlog of your state. That's one thing to consider. |
