Are 拢5 coins legal tender in Scotland. ie., Can I take 拢5 coins into my bank, and pay them into my account ? |
I have some 拢5 coins, and want to know if they are legal tender. I presume that it would be awkward trying to convince a shopkeeper of this fact, but what about banks ? Could I take 拢5 coins to my bank, and use them as a deposit for my account ? You could, BUT assuming you're referring to 拢5 crown coins, which are really more considered to be issued for coin collectors, you may be better off checking to see if it's worth anything first as older ones can get sold for more than face value if it's in good condition. http://www.24carat.co.uk/crownsindx.html... http://coins.search.ebay.co.uk/5-crown_c...Yes, of course. Shops should accept them too, but given that in England they dont even like touching Scottish notes, then not much of a chance with 拢5 coins i guess (!) yep you can. Yes, they are legal tender anywhere Sterling is accepted, including shops, pubs, banks, etc. |
