How do you take the Halifax in Scotland to court, to get bank charges back?? |
I have been made a final offer of 拢980 return of bank charges, this is less than 50% of what I asked for.. Handle your finances better in the future. Learn from your mistakes and don't give them the satisfaction of charging you again. I have to say that people like you make me sick, jumping on the bandwaggon and trying to claim money back when it is your fault in the first place. I hope they reject your claim and make you pay costs!!! file a claim with the small claims court HALIFAX SUCKS!!!! they let a fifteen year old take out an OVERDRAFT!!! Go to your local CAB and get advice. Check out moneysavingexpert.com. They have info on there about that precise issue. try the ombudsman first, it`s cheeper than going to court Probably a straightforward County Court claim (or scottish equivalent). I think in your case, the important thing might be to actually start proceedings - there might be a small fee involved -but I heard that once you start legal action against an institution like this, they will always always settle out of court. This means that ultimately you should: get what they owe you + any court fee + some compensation for your time. Write a letter before action. Refuse formally the amount they offer. tell them what you want. Give them say 30 days to reply. Tell them that unless they give you your money, you will start legal proceedings. Keep a copy of the letter. After 30 days, obtain the form for starting a claim in the court claim. I think you can download the form from the website below or they will tell you exactly where to get it and how much the fee will be. I definately would start the claim. They will settle in the end |
