Can anybody tell me the best way to pay for things in thailand, credit card? dollars? |
Are cash points readily available Yes , Cashpoints are everywhere . I'm a British Thai Resident , but widely travelled . I have always travelled with a bank debit card and a credit card . As soon as I arrive at a new country I draw some local currency . in Thailand the cards are good in big hotels and supermarkets etc. , but otherwise pay in cash . cash points are everywhere in thailand,most of them take visa,mastercard....any of the 'western 'ones.Cash is best for shop purchases,unless it's a big item like gold .Credit cards for settling your hotel bill. It's not 100% foolproof but if the place looks respectable it probably is and you wont get your card cloned/raided.Just don't leave your commonsense at home. Thailand use baht as currency not dollars.....use baht.You can change money very easily in tourist areas,literally every shop,tour operator and hotel Yes cash for everything except hotel bill. Every bank has a kiosk out from that will give you baht from your credit card with a pin and if you have cash from home you can exchange it very easily at the kiosk or in the bank. check with your bank before you go some need to be told you are going or their cards will not work .The banks have just tightened security my bank |
